Although I was born in Illinois, I grew up in various states including Oklahoma, Michigan and Colorado. I went to Hope College and earned a B.A. in Business Administration. My Masters of Divinity is from Iliff School of Theology located in Denver, Colorado. Before arriving in Salem, I have been appointed to various United Methodist churches in the Illinois Great Rivers conference since 1991. Most of these appointments have been in large churches with shared ministry where I have been able to focus on discipleship, health ministries and missions. Youth ministry has been part of my call but I have more recently focused on adult discipleship.
My husband, David Johnston, and I have two grown children. Our daughter, Clarissa is a special education teacher in San Jose, California and our son, Andrew, is finishing his degree at ISU in Normal while working at Olive Garden. I "enjoy" running which allows me to eat ice cream, one of the joys in life.
